F.A.Q.
Q: What file format should I send my files in?
A: We can use many file formats, but not all. Our first choice is the file right from the application that was used to create it. In most cases that means a file from;
-
Adobe Illustrator (up to CS3)
- MacroMedia Freehand MX
- Corel draw (up to Version 10 for the Mac)
- Some MS Word files (check with us first)
Q: Can I send a jpeg or tiff file?
A: Depending on what we will be printing / producing, we may be able to use jpeg or Tiff files at 300 DPI, but they are not recommended.
Q: How big of a file can I send you?
A: We can except up to an 8 MB file via email, and up to 100MB's via our FTP site. Call for more information.
Q: Can I mail a file to you and what media type do you accept?
A: We can use Floppy Disks, CD or DVD.
Q: Do I need to send along the fonts?
A: If you are using one of the drawing applications listed above, you can convert to paths or create outlines and we should be fine.
Q: What size (or how big) do we send the file?
A: If it is sent as vector art it won't matter, as we can size as needed. If you are sending a jpeg or tiff file, then it needs to be at the final output size at 300 DPI.
Q: Can we send files from our web site?
A: In most cases - NO. Web images are often at 72 or 96 DPI, and will not re-produce very well at all.
